Perhaps we're sounding the alarm too early. Perhaps this is an overreaction, but we have to say it — we're worried about Elon Musk's Instagram.
OK, hear us out on this one.
Elon Musk — you know, the man at the head of SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and that mysterious tunneling project — is no stranger to Instagram. Scroll through his photos and you'll see lots of pictures of rockets, and lots of pictures of cars. One time he posted something about a time machine. You know, typical posts for someone called "the real life Iron Man."
But his last two Instagrams? Hoo, man — What. Is. Going. On. Elon?
SEE ALSO: Dear internet, Amber Heard and Elon Musk really want you to know they're a thingFirst there was the one of him and his apparent new girlfriend, actress Amber Heard, posted on Monday. The photo was very, "Hello we are dating, did you know we are dating?" Which, fine. Happy relationships are good. It just startled some Muskites because it so wasn't Elon Musk. The only time he's shared anything even remotely family-ish, it was when he posted a picture of a dog he seems to have named Martin soooo ... yeah, this Amber Heard post was confusing.
Having moo moo at Moo Moo Gold Coast with @AmberHeard, @CreepyPuppet and @CowanFilms
And then on Tuesday, Musk posted another unusual photo.
Tom Ford vs Ziplining harness
As you can see, it's one of those "look at me in these clothes I have on" posts. Which, again, sure, fine. Musk likes the clothes he has on and takes a selfie. Lots of people do this.
But ask any Muskite and they will tell you — Musk does not take such selfies.
Look through his Instagrams again and you will see. Not a selfie in sight.
Again, maybe we're overthinking this. But if humanity never reaches Mars, and machines become much smarter than we are and decide they can run sh*t a lot better than us flesh-and-bones folks, I'm just saying that perhaps we will look back on this week and say to ourselves, "Here it is: the moment when our technological savior decided his photo game was as important as perhaps colonizing another planet. And the world ended."
Okay, so maybe this isan overreaction. But Elon, we're worried.
