Patient shoppers will find that Black Friday proper still remains one of the single biggest shopping days of the year for its ability to reliably trigger year-round lows on big-ticket items (like 4K TVs, Apple devices, robot vacuums, headphones, and video games). That includes discounts even better than Amazon's well-hyped fall Prime Day deals.

But most retailers have a generous definition of "Black Friday" nowadays: It's more like a season than a 24-hour, post-Thanksgiving festivity. And many "early Black Friday deals" that start popping up in early November can be worth adding to your cart — if only to avoid availability headaches down the road.
